we are organising a Fellowship Holiday for September 2017, for up to 12 people in Dumfries and Galloway at “Galdenoch Castle Lodge” which is situated in the grounds of the castle ruins. The lodge has 7 bedrooms, 5 ensuite and at present we are looking for a minimum of 6 more people to share this with us. The lodge is vacant from 9th-16th September 2017. Transport would be useful given the location. Postcode DG9 0RS
This area of Galloway is coast and countryside. The lodge is 6 miles from Stranraer, which is a rather pleasant town and 7 miles from the lovely seaside village of Portpatrick, there are good walks on this peninsula along with an RSPB centre. In close proximity there is, amongst numerous places of interest: Whithorn (and priory) where St Ninian brought the gospel to this part of Scotland, his cave is well worth walking to-since it is almost on the beach! Wigtown, famous for its bookshops, plus cafes, Kirkcudbright, which is a coastal town with harbour and castle. Some thing for all!
I have extensive experience in organising fellowship holidays. This one is Self Catering, our price will include Bed, Breakfast and an Evening Meal (6 nights, the other night we plan to eat out), bed linen, towels, heating are also included. We believe its good value for money. (there is an alternative date of 8th-15th July but this would cost an extra £20 per person if anyone would be interested)
The Lodge has 7 bedrooms: 2 standard (1st floor), 2 twin and 1 double (ensuite) all ground floor, plus 1 double and 1 twin (ensuite) on the 1st floor, 2 standard bedrooms and 5 ensuite. There is a garden area with seating, lounge, dining room, utility room, kitchen. The house does has the internet.
For September our price (based upon 8 people) is £150 each – 2 people (of same sex) sharing a twin ensuite room. Standard Room £130 per person (there is a shower/bathroom). £150 each-couple sharing a double room. IF we achieve a “Full house” of 10-12 people the price will actually be lower. For One Person who wishes to have an “ensuite room” to themselves- please add £40 to the price quoted. Should anyone wish to assist with cooking, you would be very welcome
Our plan would be to have morning and evening devotions, fellowship outdoors (site seeing etc) during the day.
If any one would like to know more I may be contacted either by this email address or by phone (0798 909 3529). The lodge does has a website with useful information (www.galdenochcastlelodge.co.uk)
